ENTERCOM ANNOUNCES PURCHASE OF A KANSAS CITY STATION
Entercom announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Mortenson Broadcasting Company to acquire radio station WREN-AM in Kansas City for the sum of $2.75 million dollars. John L. Pierce of Force Communications & Consultants was the broker on the transaction.
In making the announcement, Entercom President and COO David J. Field commented: "The acquisition of this station will allow us to better serve our listeners and advertisers in Kansas City. We will develop the station in to a strong complement to our existing group of stations in the market."
Entercom is the sixth largest radio broadcasting company in the United States. The company owns and operates forty-two radio stations in eight markets: Boston, Seattle, Portland, Kansas City, Sacramento, Rochester, Gainesville/Ocala and Longview/Kelso, Washington.
