DAVID J. FIELD NAMED ENTERCOM PRESIDENT
Bala Cynwyd, PA -- September 28, 1998 -- Entercom Communications Corp. announced today that David J. Field has been named the Company's President, effective immediately. Joseph M. Field, who has been the Company's Chairman, CEO and President, will retain the title of Chairman and CEO.In announcing the appointment, Joseph M. Field stated: "David's new title is a better reflection of his role in the Company. He has done an outstanding job overseeing our operations and financial activities and has played a key role in our corporate acquisitions and strategic development. I look forward to continuing to work closely with him in his new capacity."
David J. Field noted, "Joe is blessed with an extraordinary intellect which he relentlessly applies to overcome the most vexing problems and challenges. I've never stopped learning from him. David has been the Company's COO since 1996 and its CFO since 1992. He will continue to serve as COO but relinquish his CFO title upon naming by the Company of a new CFO. David joined Entercom in 1987 and held a variety of prior positions, including Senior VP - Operations, VP - Corporate Development, VP - Finance, and VP/General Manager of various radio stations. Before joining Entercom, David was an investment banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Upon completion of pending transactions, Philadelphia-based Entercom will own and operate forty-one radio stations in eight markets, including Boston, Seattle, Portland, Kansas City, Sacramento, Rochester, and Gainesville/Ocala, Florida.
