Ruth Gaviria is the Chief Marketing Officer at Entercom Communications, the fastest growing and best performing radio broadcaster in the U.S. with a top-rated portfolio of 124 stations across 27 markets coast to coast.
Gaviria is the company’s first ever CMO and oversees all of Entercom’s marketing, art, design, research and communications functions, including Corporate Marketing, Brand Architecture and Design, Ad Sales Marketing and Research, and Corporate Communications and Public Relations. She is also one of the company’s leading strategist on audience development and data analytics.
Gaviria previously served as the executive vice president of Corporate Marketing at Univision Communications where she was responsible for strategically structuring and integrating the marketing organization. While at Univision, she led the re-brand of the corporation and its portfolio of broadcast and digital brands and also led several Upfront events, automated cross channel promotion and created the digital marketing practice for the company. Prior to joining Univision, Gaviria launched Hispanic Ventures at Meredith Corporation where she created several lifestyle print and digital brands and a custom publishing practice to engage with Hispanic consumers. She began her career in brand management and held brand posts at Procter & Gamble, Miller Brewing Company, Colgate Palmolive and Time Inc.
She has been recognized with awards including Fast Company’s Top 100 Most Creative People in Business (2014), Ad Age’s Top Women to Watch (2013), Cable Fax’s Most Powerful Women in Cable (2013) and Ad Age’s Top 100 Marketers (2000), among other industry accolades.
Gaviria serves on the board of ALSAC and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and is based in New York City. She holds a degree from Tulane University.
