Madison, WI – The 105.5 Triple M Green Team has been honored for its contributions to Madison’s parks during an annual award ceremony held at Olbrich Gardens. The Green Team was established nearly two decades ago to help make Madison and the surrounding area a better place to live. From April through October, Triple M listeners can help out with a variety of environmentally themed projects that will benefit Madison parks, including the Earth Day Challenge parks cleanup and the cleanup of Warner Park after “Rhythm & Booms” and Garner Park after “Opera in the Park.”
In presenting the , Madison Parks Director Kevin Briski thanked 105.5 Triple M Program Director Pat Gallagher and outgoing Green Team coordinator Laura Byrne for their help with “Ride the Drive,” as well as with various cleanup projects in Madison parks.
Ride the Drive is a fun community bike ride that started five years ago, with the city closing off streets to motor vehicles so that bikes, pedestrians, and others can enjoy them car-free. Briski thanked Triple M for taking a small event and making it big, by not only getting the word out, but also coordinating live music for the event and making the whole thing run smoothly with the help of Green Team volunteers.
