Entercom Experiments with Geothermal Energy in Buffalo

Entercom has begun a revolutionary program, experimenting with geothermal energy by installing a geothermal system in the Buffalo market that will be used in the warmer months to cool the building that houses our transmitters. Currently, air conditioning systems are used to cool the facilities so the equipment doesn’t overheat.

GSHPs are one of the most efficient residential heating and cooling methods available today. They produce heating efficiencies 50-70% higher than other heating systems and cooling efficiencies 20-40% higher than available air conditioners, directly benefiting the environment and the local Buffalo community.
