Internship
Interns
ENTERCOM COMMUNICATIONS INDIANAPOLIS has immediate openings for interns in the Programming and Promotions departments
This is your break into show business, on the lowest rung of the entertainment ladder. We’re looking for energetic, positive, and interesting candidates. Don’t be shy! You’ll be expected to interact with the public on a daily basis and will be our representative on the streets. Expect to work long, hard hours. But, you’ll be exposed to the glamour of radio celebrities, the record industry, and some of the hottest stars of today’s best music. Plus, you’ll make valuable contacts for when you graduate.
• Programming Department interns will work directly with the station’s Program Director and maintain fairly regular “9-to-5” office hours. You’ll participate in weekly music meetings that determine which songs are played on the radio station. You’ll interact with record label representatives, artist managers, and concert promoters. You’ll be called upon to help execute the station’s programming strategy in conjunction with every other department. You should be computer literate. Creative writing skills a plus.
• Promotions Department interns will work directly with the station’s Promotions Director and staff. You must be able to maintain flexible hours, including some nights and weekends. This is a great opportunity to experience something new everyday – station appearances, contests, live remote broadcasts, prize patrol, and more. You will work directly with all 3 Indy stations (WZPL, WNTR, WXNT). An outgoing personality is very helpful.
• Air Staff interns will work directly with the radio station’s on-air talent. You will help answer phones, maintain winner sheets, pull show prep material from news sources, attend station appearances, and learn digital audio production. The more interesting and energetic you are, the better your chances of landing this opportunity. Interns for the Smiley Morning Show should be available 5AM-11AM weekday mornings.
• Production Interns will work with the Creative Services Director and the Imaging Director in the production of commercial spots. Duties include dubbing commercials into Audio Vault, learning how to build music beds and write commercial copy, filing production orders and keeping the production studios organized. Applicants must have a strong desire to enter the field of commercial radio production.
All interns must receive college credit from a recognized college or university, be 18 years or older, and have a clean driving record to be eligible. This is an unpaid internship. Send your resume and other collateral materials to: Toni Moore, WZPL-FM, 9245 North Meridian Street, Suite 300, Indianapolis IN 46260.
