Entercom‘s 99.9 KISW and 107.7 The End/Seattle and 94/7fm/Portland have partnered with Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy Foundation. Two dollars from every ticket sold to the stations’ summer and holiday marquee events will be donated to the Vitalogy Foundation. The hope is to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for great PNW charities over the next few years.
The funds raised through the sale of tickets to 94/7fm’s summer concert and December to Remember, 99.9 KISW’s annual summer concert Pain in the Grass, and 107.7 The End’s Summer Camp and Deck the Hall Ball will in turn go to the Vitalogy Foundation to support the efforts of such organizations as the EB Research Partnership, the Solid Tumor Translational Research/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, The Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC),Bureau of Fearless Ideas (formerly 826 Seattle) and Treehouse.
On their reaction to this new partnership, Pearl Jam guitarist and Pearl Jam Vitalogy Foundation Board Member Stone Gossard said, “It’s an amazing thing to have the support of our local radio stations raising money for this incredible group of non-profits serving our community and beyond. These organizations are doing tremendous work and we’re grateful for partnerships like these that help us continue to fund their worthy efforts.”
Dave Richards, Entercom Seattle VP of Programming, said, “We’re proud to launch this partnership with Pearl Jam and their Vitalogy Foundation. Pearl Jam, 107.7 The End, 99.9 KISW and 94/7fm have all been long time citizens of the Pacific Northwest and to join together with our combined audiences and give back to this community is a rare honor.”
